Save money for leasing and rental car

Car hire has become very popular in the UK with many companies, which often require new vehicles to its employees to develop their business without large initial investments. It is because this type of financing for consumers to wait no need to nfl jerseys
accumulate capital to buy a vehicle may carry the risk of depreciation rates. This is another reason why the lease is a popular method of financing for companies that are used in order to finance their company vehicles. Bail is a form of long-term recruitment of a leasing company which is paid monthly and usually for a fixed period between two five years ago. At any time, the leasing company is the sole owner of the vehicle and are responsible for the risks. Leases the vehicle is used for all types of business needs and when several vehicles leased from other incentives such as mileage allowances pool and additional discounts are available.
Many companies prefer to keep their fixed costs as a driver, that the lease and the contract for maintenance may have been removed, cover tire and vehicle breakdown rescue cover to reduce the risk of becoming yet. Lease is ideal for a company that is based on their work throughout the day vehicles. Not only leasing company to keep accurate household expenditure budget in mind will help, but also administrative advantages, create and improve cash flow. Because the leasing company owns the vehicle that the administration is reduced, because there are no worries about depreciation or disposal of the vehicle.
Another popular aspect of Buffalo Bills jersey
the lease is that VAT registered companies can claim up to fifty percent of the VAT by the groom, the contract and up to one hundred percent behind VAT maintenance costs. Rental cars for individual consumers and businesses in relation to the leasing company. certainly an alternative to a loan, so that vehicles are more favorable than previously thought.
Take care, always in search of a lease too large in comparison, such as tenders and because not all ads are about the same number of months the payment of, or even the same mileage annual report.
rent old profile is 3 + 35, but some offers 6 + 35, which shows the monthly payment is actually cheaper if you make the same wages announced, but why a larger down payment, if n 'is not necessary.
The best thing is that all branches constricted at the best price on the vehicle base, down the price of two best and then request a new appointment with the options you need to see who can be less expensive.
Some advice more if you plan to rent a contract.
Always take the vehicle is in good condition with service history, according to the manufacturer's recommendations to avoid overspending.
As a common practice for manufacturers to give your car a facelift, which if it got a good time to choose the older model lease you a much better deal in shares done.
While shipments may rise in March and September and rental rates, so avoid these times and get your order in before the current seniors actions.
As in any business of Steelers jersey
supply and demand can affect the auto industry, is an extraordinary time to hire purchase deals.
In short, there are several advantages of this type of financing and therefore choose many successful companies leasing as a financing tool.

Panathinaikos seeks European rebound

Cowboys jersey
ATHENS, Greece (AP)—Greek champion Panathinaikos is looking to restore some pride after its 5-1 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League, but will miss valuable Frenchman Sidney Govou for Wednesday’s match against FC Copenhagen.
Govou, who scored Panathinaikos’ only goal against Barcelona in nfl jerseys
the Group D opener, picked up a right thigh injury in weekend training and is likely to sit out for two weeks.
The Greek side steadied its nerves with a 2-1 victory over Panionios in the Greek league Saturday, and lies a point behind rival Olympiakos in second place.
Coach Nikos Nioplias is also missing French-born center back Cedric Kante, but will have Greece defender Nikos Spyropoulos at his disposal after his return from a two-week injury.
Nioplias has made little secret of his frustration after a string of average league performances, and players appeared keen to make amends with a good result against Copenhagen.
“It’s vital that we beat the Danish team,” Brazilian playmaker Gilberto Silva Indianapolis Colts jersey
said. “After that we still have a good opportunity to qualify.”
French defender Jean-Alain Boumsong added: “We all know Barcelona owns the first place in this group. But we must fight hard for second place.”
Copenhagen started its campaign with a late win at home against Russian club Rubin Kazan, but coach Stale Solbakken said he remains wary of the threat posed by top Greek-league goalscorer Djibril Cisse.
“Panathinaikos has a lot of quality players … They have strengthened their roster with players like Cisse, but their Greek players also form the backbone of the national team,” Solbakken told the Athens daily Ethnos.
Defensive anchor Solvi Ottesen is out for Wednesday’s game at Athens Olympic Stadium, after the 26-year-old Icelander broke his arm in a Danish league match this month.
Solbakken is pinning hopes on Senegalese striker Dame N’Doye, who played for two seasons in Greece at Panathinaikos and OFI, before moving to Denmark last year.
“He’s obviously going to play,” Solbakken said. “And he’ll be hoping to prove Dallas Cowboys jersey
to the people at Panathinaikos that they shouldn’t have let him go.”

Could Been Worse Notes: Jenkins' X-Rays Negative, Written Upset

ARLINGTON, Texas - After the play that essentially sealed a disheartening loss, things appeared ready to get much worse when Pro Bowl cornerback Mike Jenkins was carted off with a knee injury in the fourth quarter Sunday.
Devin Hester's 38-yard catch and run was made possible in part by football jersey
Bears receiver Johnny Knox blocking Jenkins out of the play. The two bumped knees and Jenkins was in such pain he couldn't get up. Jenkins' x-rays were negative. An MRI is scheduled for Monday, but the third-year player's early thought was that he suffered a deep bruise, not something more serious.
"It's a little swelling," Jenkins said. "We bumped knees and the first thing you expect, you just lay there, because you don't want it to be the worst, but I mean, I'm good. A€¦ At the time when you first do it, it's just a bunch of pain; you can't really do too much."
Jenkins' injury came a series after tight end Jason Written was removed from the game after sustaining a blow to the head in taking two hits on a 23-yard catch for a first down. Written, whose helmet was taken away from him by team doctors, was furious that he was removed from the game.
One typically willing to stay after the game and answer questions, win or lose, Written exited the locker room quickly on Sunday. He apparently did not undergo more strenuous testing than what was administered on the field.
"We don't have the report on that," owner/GM Jerry Jones said of Whitten’s health. "I'm not so sure about that. I've got to get the detail on that."
Returning Linemen
After the chaos that surrounded the offensive line last week in Washington, many were happy to see starting left guard Kyle Kosher and starting right tackle Marc Colombo return to action against Chicago. One of the happiest was center Andre Gourde, who said he knows those guys, would do anything they had to in order to play.
"I know the character of both of those guys," he said after the 27-20 loss. "If they are able to play, if they have to tape something to them so that they can play, they'll play."
Gourde was not surprised both Kosher and Colombo played the entire game. He said he thinks their return went well, as the offensive line did not allow a sack all game.
"I think those guys played well today," Gourde said. "I was very excited to New Orleans Saints jersey
see Marc and Kyle back out there playing. They came back earlier than expected and played with a lot of energy and a lot of emotion and did well."
Head coach Wade Phillips said he thought the pass protection was good, and that while the offensive line got hit a couple of times on blitzes, Room needed to get rid of the ball earlier on those plays.
However, the team's running game was sub par, as the Chicago defense caught Dallas running backs behind the line of scrimmage multiple times, and the offense finished with just 36 total rushing yards. Gourde said the Bears are a good team that played hard and with great effort, but that the offense just has to do a little bit more.
"All we can do is work together as a unit and correct the things we did wrong," Gourde said. "We're going to keep working to get better, and we've got to get ready for Houston."
- Scott Brine
News & Notes: Steelers jersey

• The Dallas defense held the Bears offense to 1-of-11 (9.1%) on third downs. The 9.1 conversion percentage is the lowest figure since the defense held the N.Y. Giants (10/16/05 - OT) to 1-of-11.
• Miles Austin finished the game with 142 receiving yards to give him his eighth career 100-yard outing, his second of the season and the fifth-most yards in his career.
• Austin's 10 receptions tied his single-game high. It was the fourth time he had 10 catches in a game - at Kansas City (10/11/09), at the N.Y. Giants (12/6/09) and at Washington (9/12/10).
• The Cowboys went 12 quarters without allowing a defensive touchdown until the Bears scored in the first quarter on a touchdown pass to Greg Olsen.
• The last time the Cowboys opened a season 0-2 was in 2001 when the club began 0-4 to finish the year 5-11.
• Tony Room threw for 374 yards to give him the second-highest, single-game passing yardage in his career behind the 392 he had at the N.Y. Giants (12/6/09).
• Room’s 51 attempts were the second-most of his career behind the 55 at the N.Y. Giants (12/6/09) and his 34 completions were the third most in his career behind his 41 at the above game and 35 at Detroit (12/9/07).
Jason Written upped his career receiving yards total to 6,043 San Francisco 49ers jersey
• yards, making him the ninth tight end in league history to reach 6,000 career receiving yards.
• Dees Bryant's 62-yard first quarter punt return for a touchdown made him the first Cowboys rookie to return a punt for a touchdown since Reggie Swanton took one back 65 yards for a touchdown against Denver (11/22/01). Bryant became the fifth Dallas rookie to return a punt for a touchdown - Mel Renfro (1964), Dennis Morgan (1974), Kevin Williams (1993) and Swanton (2001).

49ers defense not satisfied with performance

Dallas Cowboys jersey
The San Francisco 49ers are achieving their goal of fielding a top NFL defense, but ringleader Patrick Willis and his crew are far from satisfied with the results two weeks into the season.
The All-Pro linebacker is off to a typically strong start and his teammates have played well around him. But the defense hasn't played quite well enough to lead San Francisco to its first victory. The 49ers (0-2) face the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
''It hasn't been perfect, but for the most part we've been OK,'' cheap nfl jerseys
Willis said Thursday. ''But there's been some errors on our part, too. We can be a lot better.''
The 49ers were pretty good Monday night against New Orleans and the league's No. 1 offense. The Saints managed just 231 yards entering the final minute before driving to the winning field goal.
The Saints had to rely on reigning NFL passing champion Drew Braes to take them down the field because the 49ers stuffed them on the ground. New Orleans averaged 2.1 yards per carry and had just one first down rushing.
That has been typical of the 49ers, who have become one of the league's toughest teams to run against. San Francisco is allowing just 63.5 yards on the ground.
The 49ers will need to set the tone again with their rushing defense against the Chiefs, who have started with two victories primarily because of what their offense has done on the ground.
Halfbacks Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones have combined for 263 yards rushing for the league's fifth-ranked rushing attack. They've carried an offense that ranks 30th in the NFL overall.
Each rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season, and they'll be running this week into the heart of a San Francisco defense looking to prevent the 49ers' first 0-3 start since 2004.
''Every week our defense prides itself on trying to stop the run first,'' Willis said. ''They have speed and power back there, but it's going to be a game. We're going to go out and play our football.''
Willis, the NFL's leading tackler two of the past three seasons, is on Steelers jersey
a similar pace this year with 21 tackles through two games. He again is thriving behind nose tackle Aubrey Franklin, who ties up blockers in the middle of San Francisco's 3-4 defensive schemes so Willis and fellow inside linebacker Take Spikes can roam free and make plays.
Franklin, designated as San Francisco's franchise player in March, didn't join the 49ers until the end of August this year after missing all off-season team workouts while he sought a new contract. But Franklin has made up for lost time since his return.
''I've knocked the rust off and I'm back in there now,'' said Franklin, who had a career season last year with 88 tackles. ''It's just like where we left off last year. We're playing off each other and everything and playing within the scheme. We haven't allowed much rushing, but we haven't won a game yet either. So I can't brag on that.''
The 49ers may have a new starter next to Willis on Sunday. Spikes left the Saints game in the second half with a knee contusion and did not return after making five tackles. Spikes did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and his status for the Chiefs is uncertain.
San Francisco got a lift from rookie Navarro Bowman, who filled the void left by Spikes by contributing five tackles and aggressive play. There was no drop in performance when Bowman entered the game, and the third-round draft pick has worked with the first unit in practice this week.
The 49ers currently have no other inside linebackers on Vikings jersey
their roster.
''I'm confident and ready to go and I want to show these veterans that this young guy can really step up and do what I have to do,'' Bowman said. ''They take a lot of pride in the run defense here, and I believe I can fit in and do a lot of things to help this team win.''

Pittsburgh's Woodland Hills High has 6 NFL players

Pittsburgh's Woodland Hills High School tops USA Football's list of high schools with the most NFL players with six, while three schools have five players in the league this year.
USA Football based the list on the 1,696 players on football jersey
opening-week rosters.
The New York Jets' Jason Taylor, Arizona's Steve Breast on, New England's Rob Gronkowski, Pittsburgh's Ryan Mundy, Miami's Lusaka Polite and San Francisco's Shanties Spencer played at Woodland Hills.
''It is a much disciplined program,'' Breast on said. ''Coach (George) Novak does a good job of preparing players on the field and off the field. It is a program that prepares you for the future. A lot of Division I athletes come out of that school. You are always competing, not just against other schools, but within that school. It really pushes you and prepares you to compete at the next level.''

24 sep 10 No Vincent Jackson and now Percy Harvin has migraine

Indianapolis Colts jersey
Not only did the Minnesota Vikings not get Vincent Jackson(notes) in a trade this afternoon with the San Diego Chargers, they’re now without another wide receiver.
Percy Harvin(notes), slowed with football jerseys
a hip injury that might sideline him for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, is now battling a migraine again. It was a case of migraines that cost the second-year player nearly all of training camp and preseason.
Harvin recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and there is a belief that it is a contributing factor with his migraines. Don’t look now, but underachieving Bernard Berrian(notes) is now banged up too. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Berrian was gingerly walking off the practice field Wednesday and he’s on the injury report with a knee issue.
Don't tell the Cardinals that OLG Alan Faneca(notes) is over the hill. Bills jersey
The way we hear it, the perennial Pro Bowler is more than pulling his weight in the desert. "He still moves pretty well," one team insider said of Faneca, a free-agent addition this offseason after being released by the Jets. "He's still very good at pulling and finding defenders in space. He just has a really good feel for picking up guys at the second level. They thought he still had something left when they signed him, and they've been pretty satisfied." Faneca also has been an effective decoy. "Sometimes they'll pull him and then run in the other direction, so that's another good thing he's doing," the insider said. As for Faneca's pass protection, our sources believe he's been holding his own. "I haven't seen any major 49ers jersey
breakdowns," the insider said. "They have much bigger concerns elsewhere on the line."

Harbaugh mum on Whalen status for No. 16 Stanford

Steelers jersey
STANFORD, Calif. (AP)—Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh would not reveal any information Tuesday about the injury that knocked star receiver Ryan Whalen out of last week’s game against Wake Forest.
“I’m not going to tell you anything,” Harbaugh said when asked about Whalen’s status at his nfl jerseys
weekly news conference. “As soon as we tell you, you tell Notre Dame. There’s no advantage to doing that.”
Harbaugh has taken a tightlipped approach to injuries this season, revealing as little information as possible in interviews.
That’s the same approach he is taking with Whalen, who appeared to hurt his left arm while being tackled following a short catch in last Saturday’s 68-24 victory over Wake Forest.
Whalen was not listed on the three-deep depth chart for the 16th-ranked Cardinal (3-0). But Harbaugh wouldn’t say anything about his status for Saturday’s game at Notre Dame, saying it would give the Fighting Irish a competitive advantage.
“I would want to know that about the status of every player on their team, whether they’re going to play, what percent they are, how many plays they’re going to play, how they’re going to be used,” Harbaugh said. “That’s valuable information.”
Whalen had 10 catches for 113 yards and one touchdown before being sidelined. Whalen led the team with 57 catches for 926 yards last year and has 109 career receptions for 1,558 yards and six touchdowns.
He provides even more intangible help to an offense that is averaging 51.7 points and 475.3 yards per game this season.
“Whales is the leader on offense for us. He’s our captain,” quarterback Andrew Indianapolis Colts jersey
Luck said. “He’s been there and done it all at Stanford. It will be a serious blow if he’s out for a while. We have guys who can step in and fill that role. He knows he’s going to have to be out there coaching the guys up. Whatever happens I think we’ll be fine.”
Cushioning any blow that Whalen’s absence would present was last week’s healthy return of big-play receiver Chris Owusu, who missed the first two games with a reported knee injury.
Owusu caught touchdown passes on his first two drives of the season last week against Wake Forest. He turned his first reception into an 8-yard score and also made a leaping 35-yard touchdown catch later in the first quarter.
Owusu added a diving 22-yard catch over the middle as his speed brings an added dimension to an already high-powered offense.
“It was great to get him into the mix early, get him a touchdown, get him in the end zone,” Harbaugh said. “It was really good to have him back. He’s just one of our best players. You try to put him in as many situations as you can for him to have success.”
Owusu had five touchdown catches last year and also returned three kicks for scores. He did not return kicks in his first game back but Harbaugh said that could come soon as Stanford looks to get him even more involved heading into the toughest stretch of the season.
“He has a lot of speed and explosiveness that adds a lot to the Dallas Cowboys jersey
offense,” Luck said. “I don’ think the wide receiver corps was lacking with him out, but he definitely brings the level of play up.”
After visiting Notre Dame on Saturday, the Cardinal travel to No. 5 Oregon next week and host No. 20 Southern California the following week.

Georgia in deep hole as summer turns to fall

Steelers jersey
ATHENS, Ga. (AP)—These are the dogs days at Georgia.
The offseason was filled with arrests. The star player has yet to suit up, banished to the sideline after the NCAA found out he sold his bowl jersey for $1,000. And most troubling to the faithful outside the hedges: The first 0-2 start in the Southeastern Conference since 1993, which means any hope of nfl jersey
contending for a title this season is likely gone before the leaves change colors.
“It’s disappointing, it’s frustrating, whatever adjective you want to throw at it,” receiver Kris Durham said Tuesday. “When you come to a school like the University of Georgia, you come to win a championship.”
First, the Bulldogs need to win an SEC game. So far, they’ve been pounded into submission by No. 12 South Carolina’s running game, and been beaten through the air by No. 10 Arkansas’ high-powered attack.
Georgia (1-2 overall) heads to Mississippi State on Saturday night, facing an absolute must-win situation if it wants to retain any hope of salvaging this season. But the Bulldogs will again be without top receiver A.J. Green, who’s finishing out a four-game suspension for selling that aforementioned jersey.
“If we lose another game in the SEC, our chances of going to Atlanta (for the championship game) are very, very, very, very slim, if they’re possible at all,” quarterback Aaron Murray said. “I feel like if we win out and go 6-2 in the league, then we still have a chance. We’ve just got worry about ourselves and make sure we win every week.”
The Bulldogs did give themselves a glimmer of hope in last week’s 31-24 loss to Arkansas, rallying from a two-touchdown deficit in the fourth quarter.
Georgia actually had the ball again at midfield, needing maybe one more completion to set up an attempt at a game-winning field goal. But Murray was sacked, Arkansas got it back, and Ryan Mallett completed three straight passes for the win, the last of them a 40-yard touchdown with 15 seconds remaining.
“I’m extremely proud of the way we fought,” Durham said. “We were faced with some adversity and our character showed. We’re fighters. We’re not going to give up.”
Of course, none of those 92,000-plus who pack Sanford Stadium week after week is the least bit interested in moral victories. They expect this program to contend with the Alabamas and the Floridas of the college football world, but those schools appear to be pulling farther and farther away.
For Georgia, the turning point is easy to spot. After a brilliant finish to the 2007 season left the Bulldogs at No. 2 in the final polls, trailing only national champion LSU, they went into the next season ranked No. 1.
All the weapons were in place: A quarterback, Matthew Stafford, who Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
would be the top pick in the NFL draft; a running back, Knowshon Moreno, who also became a first-round pick; two pro-quality receivers in Mohamed Massaquoi, who’s in the NFL, and Green, who figures to be one of the top picks in next year’s draft.
Then, five weeks into the season, Georgia ran into Nick Saban’s budding powerhouse from Alabama. Before a stunned home crowd, the Bulldogs fell behind 31-0 at halftime and needed a couple of meaningless touchdowns just to make the final score a not-as-respectable-as-it-looked 41-30.
Before the season was done, there would be a 49-10 blowout at the hands of eventual national champion Florida and a 45-42 loss to local rival Georgia Tech, ending a streak of seven straight wins in that series. The team that started out ranked No. 1 in the country wasn’t even the best in its own state.
With Stafford, Moreno and Massaquoi off to the pros, Georgia struggled to an 8-5 mark last season—the worst of Mark Richt’s nine years as head coach and leading to the first major shake-up on his staff. Before a consolation trip to the Independence Bowl, he dumped defensive coordinator Willie Martinez.
Richt is starting to feel some of the expected heat from the talk shows and in the Internet chat rooms—not only for his recent record, but for having nine players arrested this year. Still, he refuses to get dragged into a big-picture look at his program.
Over the last 25 games, the stretch that began with that loss to Alabama, the Bulldogs are just 15-10 with only one significant victory, an upset of Atlantic Coast Conference champion Georgia Tech.
“The state of the program is we’re getting ready for Mississippi State,” Richt said. “It’s early in the year. We’re getting ready to play another SEC game. We’re trying to get a victory in league play.”
His message to the fans: “Just keep supporting and keep fighting, and we will too.”
But the losses, and the irritating little slights, keep on coming.
Old nemesis Steve Spurrier, who beat the Bulldogs 11 out of Minnesota Vikings jersey
12 times at Florida and relished every moment of it, came into this season just 1-4 against Georgia at his current school, South Carolina.
But after the Gamecocks beat up the Bulldogs in a 17-6 win, piling up 189 yards rushing while throwing only 17 times, Spurrier delivered a not-so-subtle shot at Georgia’s new defensive coordinator, Todd Grantham, who had been as assistant in the NFL.
“That little inside zone play, the NFL doesn’t run that play. That’s a new scheme, I guess,” Spurrier said.
Ouch.

Ground game critical to Wave's upset bid

Steelers jersey
Notwithstanding Houston's quarterback situation, the biggest asset on Tulane's balance sheet going into Saturday's game seems to be run defense. The Green Wave (1-1) and the Cougars (2-1) represent the best and worst of Conference USA run defense, with averages of 78 and 182 yards allowed per game, respectively.
But with the nation's leading tackler (27), middle linebacker Trent nfl throwback jerseys
Mackey, still unsure if he can play and Houston's newly prioritized offense likely geared toward the running game, all bets are off.
Houston, under new defensive coordinator Brian Stewart, runs a 3-4 base defense that gets it strength from linebacker speed and athleticism. That means the Wave will need Orleans Darkwa and Albert Williams to bring every bit of explosiveness in their arsenals to effectively exploit the Cougars' scheme.
"In the 3-4 there are more bubbles because they have a better athlete as opposed to a defensive lineman playing," Tulane coach Bob Toledo said. "They have more speed on the field, but you run at speed with more speed."
Houston's scheme allows them to rush three and drop eight, which has augmented their pass defense without detracting from their pass rush. It's the first 3-4 Tulane will face this year, and it will need to run well enough to control the clock and keep its defense off the field.
On the flip side, the Wave will be contending with a solid 1-2 punch in Bryce Beall and Michael Hayes, and the highly touted running ability of freshman quarterback Terrence Broadway, a four-star prospect just a year ago.
Houston has always displayed exceptional athleticism against Tulane, according to Toledo, and Broadway's inexperience will dictate his reliance on it to make plays.
"They have a freshman quarterback who hasn't had an opportunity to get really familiar with all the passing game," Toledo said. "It's a lot easier for him to hand the ball off than to run it himself; they have two outstanding runners and their offensive line does a good job of blocking for the run, so I expect them to try to run the football."
With much preseason spotlight on Case Keenum's Heisman hopes and record-breaking bids (including all-time career passing yards, set by Hawaii's Timmy Chang in 2002), Houston's rushing accomplishments have been relatively inconspicuous this year.
But the fact remains: the Cougars' previous position atop the "points scored" column didn't come from passing alone.
Beall and Hayes have introduced a rushing attack with a 189 yard per game average and nine touchdowns to its credit, figures that rank 39th and 14th nationally. Ole Miss averages only 133 rushing yards per game, so containing the backs and Broadway may be the biggest test yet for Tulane's run defense.
Ultimately, it's the system that has accounted for so much offensive success, according to Colts jersey
Toledo, and that's what the Wave is preparing for.
"They're the old Texas Tech system," Toledo said. "They're three, four, five wide receivers, very simple running game; they get you spread out and isolate you."
Aerially speaking, Toledo expects the Cougars to duplicate last year's game-plan of implementing short routes, within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage, to exploit one-on-one matchups. Their ability to execute efficiently underneath and gain yardage after the catch will test Tulane's athleticism more than its physicality, the latter of which lacked for nothing against Ole Miss.
"We have to play their system; they're not going to change their system," Toledo said. "It doesn't matter who's at quarterback; Broadway will do what they've been doing, but they may tweak some things to take advantage of his athleticism."
Flanker Finalized
Joe Kemp will start at wide receiver on Saturday, his first start since quarterbacking the Wave midway through the 2009 season, ironically coming against the team that ended his 2008 season.
In his last appearance at Robertson Stadium a late hit by Houston defensive end Philip Hunt broke Kemp's collarbone, ending his redshirt freshman campaign.
Kemp has every reason to be playing with a chip on his shoulder, but knows this game is too important for two-year old personal qualms.
"It's just another game," Kemp said. "It's our first road game of the year and a chance to get a forward accomplishment, so a win would be the best revenge I could ask for."
Kemp's made visible strides towards becoming the Wave's long-ball guy throughout the fall, but has become an equally proficient blocker with his size (6-foot-4, 211 pounds), according to Toledo.
"I know what they [the coaches] expect out of me; they expect me to be a force in the run game, and besides that, just to go up and catch the deep balls, and that's what I plan on doing," Kemp said.
Redshirt freshman Wilson Van Hooser will back up Kemp at flanker after a productive debut against Ole Miss. The coaches expect him to get more touches against Houston and be particularly effective after the catch.
Defensive Changes
Darryl Farley will shift to middle linebacker if Mackey is deemed ineligible, giving true freshman Zach Davis the starting weak side job in the 4-3. A final decision regarding Mackey should come by Wednesday afternoon.
Both Davis and strong side linebacker Dominique Robertson have mild hamstring pulls, though both Cowboys jersey
are expected to start. Davis will be kept out of special teams play on Saturday to preserve the depth at will linebacker.
Dezman Moses will start at left defensive end and Ryan Travis at right cornerback in this defensive scheme.

Giants go for it by trading for Guillen

Steelers jersey
Pitcher Barry Zito vouched Friday for new Giants right fielder Jose Guillen.
"Neukom's an animal. He's getting after it," Zito said before the Giants began their divisional showdown with the first-place San Diego Padres. "He's doing things this team hasn't seen in years.
"We love it. It shows management has faith in us. nfl throwback jerseys
It gives us motivation."
This evolution of a pennant contender is not something Neukom nor his minions are taking lightly.
Like everyone else, they thoroughly considered whether they were sacrificing clubhouse chemistry by adding Guillen, a mercurial showman who brings yet another respected bat to the ever-changing heart of the Giants' order.
"When you've got a good thing going, and you're not desperate, and you want to be stronger, you want to be sure of the next player that comes in and see how he fits," Neukom said.
The all-around vibe is that Guillen is one animal who can be tamed amid a contending ballclub that polices itself well with trusted veterans. Guillen is not in Kansas (City) anymore.
Nor was he in Friday's lineup (joke: he does have tons of, ahem, baggage to pack) but he will become a constant presence, likely beginning today.
"I hope he'll come and help us in the stretch drive," Neukom added. "It's also important he wants to prove himself and extend his career. He'll fit in very well. It's a very positive clubhouse."
Zito seconded that motion, recalling how Guillen was a "good dude" when they teamed together on the 2003 A's. Zito has heard the stories of Guillen's discontent elsewhere but never saw such sideshows with the A's.
One obvious explanation for that: Those A's were the only team Guillen accompanied into the postseason San Francisco 49ers jersey
during his 14-year career. Guillen was acquired by the A's in a July 30 trade and contributed eight home runs in 45 games (plus a .455 batting average in the divisional playoffs vs. the Boston Red Sox). The Giants are his 10th club.
"He's a great guy, a great baseball player," said Padres shortstop Miguel Tejada, who hit cleanup on those 2003 A's while Guillen batted second. "Everyone knows what he can do. He can hit, and he's a great acquisition for San Francisco."
Understand this: Guillen is not the only acquisition the Giants have made during this season-long pursuit of the Padres. The precious clubhouse chemistry that everyone is suddenly so protective of will endure Guillen's presence. Otherwise, the Giants should sever ties with him at the first sign of disruption.
What is so striking about this club is its constant reconstruction. This is not the same outfit from when the Giants dropped seven of eight games with the Padres in the season's first two months. Welcome aboard: catcher Buster Posey, left fielder Pat Burrell, starter Madison Bumgarner and relievers Javier Lopez and Chris Ray (not to mention the emergence of Andres Torres and Aubrey Huff).
"Brian (Sabean, the Giants general manager) put a lot of time in finding a piece here or there to fit in and help," manager Bruce Bochy said.
OK, so Neukom is not the only, um, animal getting after it. The Giants czar is pleased how his club has dug in for a race he predicts will go "down deep into September."
"We have to continue to count mostly on homegrown talent and find a way to complement things with trades or strategic free-agent signings," Neukom said of the Giants makeup. "Fortunately our baseball guys have been very vigilant in finding key pieces."
As for his animal instincts, Neukom responded: "That's nice of (Zito) to say, that Buffalo Bills jersey
I'm doing things useful and constructive."
Is it OK to call the boss an "animal?"
"He's a trial lawyer," Zito quipped. "I'm sure he's been called a lot of things."
So has Guillen, who the Giants have called upon as yet another piece to a puzzle that is coming together nicely.

Brewers mount six-run inning to beat up on Pirates

Steelers jersey
MILWAUKEE A misplayed fly ball by Pirates right fielder Lastings Milledge opened the door for a six-run seventh inning, which lifted the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday to a 7-2 victory.
With runners on first and second and one out, Alcides Escobar hit a football jerseys
deep fly ball. Milledge ran to his right, then backpedaled.
"I made a good break on it," Milledge said. "It was tailing a little bit. I put my head down and adjusted myself. I looked back up ... and I lost it."
The ball sailed over Milledge's outstretched arm and caromed off the wall toward center field.
"Every day of the week, I've got that play in my back pocket," Milledge said. "Today, I didn't make it. He just hit it in the right spot. It cost us big."
Escobar got a two-run triple, giving the Brewers a 3-2 lead. Milwaukee scored four more runs in the inning, including a two-out, RBI doubles by Corey Hart and Ryan Braun.
Right-hander James McDonald (2-4), who was dominant for the first five innings, took the loss. He gave up six runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out seven.
All of the runs and six of the hits came in McDonald's final, San Diego Chargers jersey
nightmare inning.
"Things happen," McDonald said with a shrug. "I felt good. I made some good pitches. They put the bat on the ball and things happened."
It didn't have to be that way, said manager John Russell.
"(Milledge) misplayed it and it wound up really hurting us," Russell said. "McDonald threw the ball very well, but couldn't get out of that inning. If we make the play in right field ... "
The Pirates built an early 2-0 lead against lefty Chris Narveson (10-7).
Milledge led off the second inning with a double to center field. Ronny Cedeno's single scored Milledge, who collided with catcher Jonathan Lucroy to jar the ball loose.
With one out in the fifth, Chris Snyder hit a solo home run to left. It was Snyder's 12th homer of Chicago Bears jersey
the season, his second since being traded to the Pirates at the end of July.
McDonald gave up just one hit — Escobar's infield single in the
Lucroy began the sixth with a line-drive single. Narveson bunted Lucroy over and Rickie Weeks walked. Hart's single to center scored Lucroy.

Vin Mazzaro hurt by home run ball again as Oakland A's lose to Los Angeles Angels 7-4

Steelers jersey
The education continues for A's right-hander Vin Mazzaro in his second big league season.
One lesson being learned:
Balls often fly out of the yard when he falls behind in the count.
Mazzaro served up a pair of two-run homers and lasted just nfl jerseys
4 1/3 innings Sunday in a 7-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, which denied the A's a three-game sweep in front of the home crowd.
Though Mazzaro has shown improvement at times since a rocky rookie campaign in 2009, the long ball has done him damage in recent outings.
He's lost his past six decisions, posting a 5.60 ERA over that eight-start stretch, and has allowed five homers in his past two outings.
"He really hasn't thrown the ball that well in the last month or so," A's manager Bob Geren said. "He's had some decent games, but his command of the strike zone is not where it needs to be."
More important than the number of homers: the situations in which they've come.
Mazzaro (6-8) has given up 18 homers this season, and 14 have come with men on base, which leads the American League. For the second straight start, Mazzaro surrendered a homer on a 3-0 count.
He grooved a 3-0 fastball that Mike Napoli crushed for a two-run shot in the third, putting the Angels ahead 4-0. Three batters earlier, Mazzaro tried to go inside with a fastball that ran over the plate, and Bobby Abreu launched a two-run homer to right-center.
"I've given up homers on 3-0, 3-1 pitches," Mazzaro said. "I should be expecting them to 49ers jersey
be swinging. It's a matter of locating that fastball."
He's not the only Athletic to struggle in that situation.
The A's have allowed four homers on 3-0 counts -- most in the majors. They've all come in the past three weeks.
Jerry Blevins served one up to Minnesota's Jim Thome on Aug. 15; Brett Anderson allowed one to Toronto's Jose Bautista the very next day; and Mazzaro allowed yet another to the New York Yankees' Nick Swisher on Tuesday.
Geren was asked what adjustments his pitchers need to make on 3-0 pitches.
"Honestly, don't get to 3-0," he said. "A hitter can be as selective as he wants in that count. It's a count that a lot of teams don't swing away on. But when a power hitter that can hurt you gets that opportunity, really, it's not much different than 2-0."
The A's could have gained on the AL West-leading Texas Rangers for the third straight day, but they remain eight games out of first.
Mazzaro, 23, has posted a 4.06 ERA in 17 starts since joining the rotation in early June. And 12 of those have been quality starts.
But after Jeff Larish delivered a two-run double in the fourth Sunday that pulled the A's to within 4-3, Mazzaro gave a run right back in the fifth on Torii Hunter's RBI double, and Geren came with the hook.
Mazzaro has pitched recently with a blister on his right middle finger, according to catcher Landon Powell.
Though Mazzaro didn't mention the blister after the game, Saints jersey
Powell added:
"I'm not trying to blame it on that, and I don't think he would, either. But it's like having a little leak in your tire. It's not going to run as smoothly. It's definitely affected his breaking ball. It didn't have the same bite."

njury review: Vick to replace Kolb for Week 2

Steelers jersey
I’m kicking the junk food, fast food, fried food and bread to the curb. The time has come to get ready for the future. Sure, I’m old, decrepit and probably in need of a new knee sometime in the future.
The goal for 2011 is plain and simple. Be Swoll.
And that means getting my body finely-tuned and ready to roll for nfl throwback jerseys
the open casting call that will occur for defensive linemen once the NFL brings forth the proposed 18-game schedule.
We wonder aloud whether Week 1 of this NFL season was particularly laden with injuries or whether we just merely forgot opening weekends past. No, this week’s action seemed particularly brutal.
I’m still trying to cut that Rocky music swell properly to fit the images of the Green Bay-Philadelphia contest from Week 1. It rates among the hardest-hitting, knock-down, drag-out games I’ve seen in awhile. That’s where this week’s trip to the "Fantasy Infirmary" begins.
Ryan Grant is out for the season. Fourth-year running Brandon Jackson will step into Green Bay’s top spot, as we’re all aware, this week against the Bills. Dimitri Nance, a rookie tailback out of Arizona State, was signed off of the Atlanta practice squad to fill Grant’s roster slot. The 5-foot-10, 220-pound tailback averaged 4.2 yards per carry with six touchdowns in 2009.
2 Kevin Kolb and linebacker Stewart Bradley won’t play in Week 2. It’s "The Michael Vick Show" in a beautiful matchup against the Lions this weekend.
Cedric Benson participated fully in Thursday’s workout after being limited because of a shoulder injury on Wednesday.
Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks was one of the top performers of Week 1, but he’s struggling with an ankle injury and couldn’t practice on Thursday, per Zach Berman of The Newark Star-Ledger.
Berman also reports that center Shaun O’Hara left Thursday’s practice because of continuing issues with his ankle. O’Hara will try to play on. He better, because I’ve gone hoarse talking up the New York running game for Sunday night!
Early Doucet, who looked good early, left Sunday’s game with a sports hernia. He’ll miss 4-6 weeks or longer because of the injury, per The Arizona Republic. Steve Breaston stepped up big in his action. We already knew Breaston would be a big factor in this offense. The player to watch is Stephen Williams, who had a nice preseason (I know. You wanted me to start ranting about Max Komar!).
Chris "Beanie" Wells is still a mystery for Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers jersey
Falcons. He did some individual work during Wednesday’s workout, but hasn’t run through a full workout just yet. Tim Hightower figures to be the lead back for this week’s effort, regardless of Wells’ availability.
Darrelle Revis is dealing with a hamstring injury, per The Newark Star-Ledger, but the all-world cornerback is expected to be ready to battle Randy Moss this weekend. Moss was famously contained as part of the founding season of "Revis Island." Somehow, I was cautiously optimistic that Moss would post a sizable game this week before the injury news was released. Is Revis playing possum?
We already know about Kris Jenkins’ season-ending injury on the Jets’ defensive interior. His absence changes the complexion of the run defense somewhat. I don’t expect the Patriots to attack the middle with Fred Taylor, but a little bulldozing with Ben Jarvus-Ellis (ahh, there he is) and Slammin’ Sammy Morris might be in order. Taylor has "ninja" status for this week.
Percy Harvin has reportedly found some help for his sleep apnea and migraines, but the Vikings receiver missed Thursday’s practice because of a hip injury. Judd Zulgad of The Minnesota Star-Tribune advises that Brad Childress acknowledged a bruised hip in a KFAN radio appearance Thursday and sounded optimistic that Harvin will be available against the Dolphins. This sounds like a game-time decision in the making.
Dallas fans breathed a sigh of relief as tackle Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier returned to work in preparation for Sunday’s game against Chicago, per The Dallas Morning News. Both remain questionable as we head toward the weekend, but their return to the practice field does help alleviate some anxiety. We’ll have more on this Sunday morning.
Indianapolis safety Bob Sanders is out already following surgery on his biceps tendon. The Colts’ run defense is now exposed, as we’ve seen in years past (go watch Arian Foster sprinting around the field in Week 1).
Albert Haynesworth sprained his ankle during Wednesday’s practice and was limited in practice Thursday, per The Washington Post. Haynesworth’s absence would make the aforementioned Foster a virtual lock for a monster follow-up week.
The Bears lost an important part of the linebacker corps when the team placed Hunter Hillenmeyer on injured reserve because of a concussion. Lance Briggs (16 tackles) and Brian Urlacher get the headlines, but Hillenmeyer has long been a steady backup and plug-in option. He topped 100 tackles last year in place of the injured Urlacher.
Paul Posluszny racked up eight tackles and a sack in Week 1 against the Dolphins. Unfortunately, Posluszny sustained a right knee sprain in the contest and will be sidelined a minimum of 2-3 weeks, per The Buffalo News. The Bills are thin at linebacker, having lost Kawika Mitchell for the year as well. Keith Ellison slides into the starting lineup in Posluszny’s absence.
The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that quarterback Jake Delhomme remains in a walking boot after injuring his ankle against the Buccaneers. Delhomme did not practice on Thursday, putting Seneca Wallace under center with the first unit.
Russell Okung did not practice on Buffalo Bills jersey
Wednesday, per The Seattle Times, and Pete Carroll noted that his status for Week 2 against Denver is still in doubt as he recovers from a high-ankle sprain.
Linebacker Leroy Hill returns to the "Win Forever!" Seahawks following his one-game suspension.

Arizona coach says Wells to be game-time decision

Steelers jersey
Beanie Wells was limited in practice again on Friday and Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt says the running back's participation against Atlanta on Sunday will be a game-time decision.
Wells has been limited in practice all week because of a bruised right knee. football jerseys
He gave the knee a strong test on Thursday and insisted afterward that he would ''definitely'' go through a full practice on Friday. But Whisenhunt said the knee swelled up a bit overnight so Wells was limited again.
The second-year pro from Ohio State, Arizona's leading rusher last season, sat out last week's season-opening victory at St. Louis. He was injured against the Washington Redskins in the final preseason game on Sept. 2.
Wells was listed as questionable for Atlanta, as were Chicago Bears jersey
teammates defensive end Kenny Iwebema (knee) and safety Hamza Abdullah (groin).

Buzz: Latest from the NFL

Steelers jersey
For the first time in a while, the Dallas Cowboys will likely have their entire starting offensive line unit together when the team hosts the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
RT Marc Colombo (knee-probable) and RG Kyle Kosier (knee-probable) practiced nfl jerseys
all week and are slated to be back in the starting lineup.
However, head coach Wade Phillips indicated both players could see their backups getting some playing time in the game.
Colombo has not played since he had knee surgery in mid-August. When a knee becomes inactive for a prolonged period of time, it can get fatigued, so that’s what Colombo will be fighting against.
Kosier suffered an MCL sprain in a training camp practice in mid-August and has not played since then. The degree of sprain was not revealed by the team, but grade-2 MCL sprains can keep a player out from two to four weeks.
The Atlanta Falcons could be without starting SS Erik Coleman (knee-questionable) when the team takes on the Arizona Cardinals in the home opener.
Coleman did not practice at all this week with second-year S William Moore filling in for him.
Moore, a second-round pick last year, was highly touted coming out of the University of Missouri. Scouts liked his size and range. His rookie season was cut short due to a hamstring injury.
Coleman is signed through 2011, so Moore might have to wait a while to get a chance to start on a full-time basis.
The team will already be without starting WR Michael Jenkins (shoulder) for the second straight week.
When the Detroit Lions host the Philadelphia Eagles, they could be without a bunch of key starters on Sunday.
QB Matthew Stafford (shoulder-out) is expected to miss at least a few weeks. He’ll be replaced by journeyman QB Shaun Hill.
DE Cliff Avril (knee/finger-out) will be replaced by Turk McBride, who was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second-round of the 2007 NFL Draft. McBride was drafted as a defensive tackle, so it remains to be seen if he can provide any pass-rushing help. McBride has only posted 31/2 sacks in his career.
MLB DeAndre Levy (groin-questionable), who did not play in last week’s game against the Chicago Bears, has not gone through a full practice yet during the regular season. Last week’s replacement, veteran LB Landon Johnson, really is best used on the outside.
FS Louis Delmas (groin/finger-questionable) did not practice Friday, but the plan was to limit his practice time in order to give him a chance to play on Sunday. Detroit has next to no depth at either safety spot, so having Delmas in the lineup is essential for the team having a chance to win. Delmas is a real tone setter for the secondary.
Baltimore Ravens starting TE Todd Heap (shoulder-questionable) was limited again in Friday’s practice. The 10th year pro has been limited this week by a strained shoulder.
Because regular season practices are generally Saints jersey
non-contact, Heap probably won’t know for sure how his injured shoulder will hold up in game conditions. If Heap winds up being one of Baltimore’s eight inactives Sunday or is limited by his injury, keep an eye on rookie TE Ed Dickson, who was selected in third round. A personnel source said the offensive coaching staff believes Dickson has a chance to be more than the team’s starting tight of the future--he has drawn comparisons to former Baltimore TE Shannon Sharpe.
Dickson, in the eyes of some personnel evaluators, was the top vertical tight end available for this year’s draft.
Buffalo Bills starting ILB Paul Posluszny will miss Sunday’s game at the Green Bay Packers due to a sprained knee. While the exact injury isn’t known, head coach Chan Gailey said the fourth-year pro would miss probably two to three weeks. Gailey added the team dodged a bullet with the injury because the original fear was that Posluszny could miss significant playing time.
Fifth-year LB Keith Ellison is expected to start with veteran LB Akin Ayodele backing him up. Not having Posluszny against Green Bay could be problematic for the defense. Ellison is an undersized linebacker and Green Bay has a physical running game. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Ayodele, who weighs around 15 more pounds than Ellison, see more snaps than expected in this game.
For the second straight week, the playing status for second-year RB Chris “Beanie” Wells (knee) is up in the air. Wells, who is listed as questionable, was limited again in Friday’s practice.
Coaches typically do not like to play younger players who don’t practice much during the week.
Wells will have to show that he’s ready to go in pregame warmups in order to get the green light to play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
If Wells misses his second straight game, RBs Jason Wright and La’Rod Stephens-Howling will back up starter Tim Hightower. Stephens-Howling gives the team some badly needed speed for their running game.
Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin returned to practice on Friday and laughed at the suggestion his bruised hip might keep him out of Sunday's home game against the Miami Dolphins.
Coach Brad Childress said the team would make ''a game-time decision'' on Harvin, who was limited in practice on Friday and listed as questionable on the injury report.
''He is the coach,'' Harvin said, grinning. ''I feel fine, so I guess we'll see pregame then.''
The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Harvin said he first felt something in the hip during Monday's practice. He was limited on Wednesday and received ''a lot of treatment'' while sitting out practice Thursday.
''A lot of sprinters just know, when you kind of get that pull, you kind of just ease up little bit,'' Harvin said. ''It was just one of them, so coach just wanted to take (Thursday) as a precaution, but I feel fine.''
Childress said the team would re-evaluate Harvin on Sunday morning and could sign receiver Logan Payne off the practice squad if Harvin can't play. The Vikings only have four receivers on the roster.
Cornerbacks Cedric Griffin and Chris Cook and backup defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy also were listed as questionable - all with knee injuries.
Left tackle Bryant McKinnie (finger), quarterback San Diego Chargers jersey
Brett Favre (ankle/back), running back Toby Gerhart (knee) and center John Sullivan (calf) fully participated throughout the week and were listed as probable.
Also Friday, right tackle Phil Loadholt was fined $10,000 for two unnecessary roughness violations in the Vikings' Sept. 9 loss at New Orleans, an NFL spokesman said. Loadholt ''grabbed his opponent by the facemask in an attempt to block him on pass plays in the second and fourth quarter.''

Joe Mauer(notes) again frustrated the White Sox on Wednesday

Vikings jersey

The Minnesota Twins arrived in Chicago looking to bury the White Sox in the AL Central race.
With emphatic victories in the first two games, the Twins have essentially squashed Chicago’s playoff aspirations.
In their final meeting of the season, Minnesota looks to football jersey
sweep the fading White Sox and move closer to attaining baseball’s best record Thursday night.
Chicago (79-66) knew it would probably need to sweep this series from the Twins for it to have any chance of winning the Central, but Minnesota (87-58) has won the first two games by 9-3 scores to increase its lead to eight games and cut the magic number to clinch the division to 10.
“We were really looking forward to making a move in this series and we find ourselves against the wall right now with two games down,” infielder Omar Vizquel(notes) said. “There is still some games left but as long we keep losing against the first-place team I don’t think we will be making any moves.”
The White Sox, losers of six of eight, have had chances in the first two games but are 4 for 24 with runners in scoring position while Minnesota is 9 for 20.
The Twins, who have won 10 of 11, are a major league-best 41-16 since the All-Star break and trail AL East-leading Tampa Bay by one game for baseball’s best record.
Joe Mauer(notes) again frustrated the White Sox on Dallas Cowboys jersey
Wednesday, finishing with three hits - including a three-run homer. Mauer is 15 for 27 with four doubles and seven RBIs in eight games at U.S. Cellular this year, and he’s batting .455 with nine doubles and 15 RBIs as the Twins have gone 12-5 against the White Sox.
“I like hitting here,” said Mauer, who also had three hits in the opener. “I don’t know what it is. It’s a great place to hit.”
Although Mauer has battered Chicago pitching, he’s hitting .226 with a home run and four doubles in 31 at-bats against scheduled starter Mark Buehrle(notes) since 2008.
Buehrle (12-10, 3.99 ERA) didn’t receive a decision after allowing three runs in seven innings in Friday’s 4-3 win over Kansas City. The White Sox have won each of Buehrle’s last three starts and are 16-5 with him on the mound since May 21.
Buehrle limited the Twins to five hits in seven innings of an 11-0 victory in Minnesota on Aug. 19. The left-hander is 8-3 with a 3.32 ERA in his last 11 home starts against the Twins.
Minnesota counters with Carl Pavano(notes) (16-11, 3.47), who allowed two runs and six hits in a complete-game 2-0 loss to Cleveland on Friday. The right-hander, who was bothered by a stiff neck, is 1-4 with a 4.38 ERA in his last five starts.
That stretch started when he opposed Buehrle at Target Field last month and was knocked around for seven runs and a career-worst 15 hits over six innings in a losing effort.
One Chicago hitter that has given Pavano fits is Paul Konerko(notes), who is Minnesota Vikings jersey
8 for 11 with two homers against him this season.
Konerko, 8 for 14 with three home runs in his last four games, is batting .394 with four homers and 12 RBIs against the Twins this year.

NFL talks to female reporter about Jets

Dallas Cowboys jersey
After a summer in the spotlight, the Jets are under scrutiny again.
The ''Hard Knocks'' stars are being investigated by the NFL for the way Jets players and coaches carried on when they were visited by a female reporter from a Mexican TV network during the team's practice Saturday.
Ines Sainz, of Mexico's TV Azteca, said on her nfl jerseys
Twitter account Saturday that she felt ''very uncomfortable!'' in the Jets' locker room, where a few players let loose with some ''Whooo-weee!'' catcalls as she waited with two male co-workers to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez, who is of Mexican descent.
''Of course you feel it when you are being stared at and when you are being spoken of in a certain way,'' Sainz told The Associated Press. ''I opted to ignore it ... I tried to not even pay attention.''
She tweeted in Spanish on Saturday night that she tried ''not to look anywhere!!''
''It was an uncomfortable moment because you are in the team's dressing room and they are obviously changing clothes, showering - doing what they do every day in the locker room,'' Sainz said to the AP. ''So being a woman, obviously it was a bit uncomfortable.''
Sainz also thanked supporters Monday on Twitter for their concern.
''I already spoke to the NFL and it will be up to them to decide whether or not there will be consequences!!'' she tweeted.
Sainz was at the New Meadowlands Stadium on Monday night and had a seat in the press box for New York's 10-9 season-opening loss to Baltimore. She was not seen in the Jets' locker room after the game.
''No. 1, we never want anyone around our team to be uncomfortable,'' Jets coach Rex Ryan said after the game. ''We're cooperating with the NFL and we'll get down to it, so I don't really want to comment more than that on it.''
During defensive back drills on Saturday, Jets assistant coach Dennis Thurman seemed to deliberately throw to players near where Sainz was standing on the sideline. Even linebacker Jason Taylor, who normally doesn't participate in those position drills, went out for a pass.
At the end of the drill, Ryan threw a pass to Thurman, who caught it, ran toward Sainz and appeared to speak to her very briefly.
''Obviously, we know about it and I understand the league is looking into it,'' Taylor said, ''and we'll wait and see what they talk about.''
When asked if he thought what occurred in the locker room was offensive, Taylor said: ''We'll let the league figure this out and talk about it later. I really can't speak on it.''
The Association for Women in Sports Media said a board member spoke to Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum on Sunday about the reports. Also, team owner Woody Johnson spoke to Sainz, telling her ''he expects all members of Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
the Jets organization to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times,'' Jets spokesman Bruce Speight said.

Sainz said she talked Sunday with NFL officials.
''I don't want to make it a bigger deal,'' she said. ''I have confidence in the NFL and the Jets' management and I know that this will serve as a precedent so that this does not happen to another women.''
TV Azteca promotes Sainz both as a journalist and as a model. The network's website includes photo collections of Sainz and has an article in its ''Bad Girls'' section headlined, ''Inez Sainz, the perfect woman.'' The article describes her as intelligent and having a good sense of humor, and is accompanied by a photo of her in a skimpy bikini.
She has covered the NFL before, including at least a few Super Bowls. At a media event before the Super Bowl in 2009, she measured the bicep of Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Steve Breaston. The year before, she asked Patriots quarterback Tom Brady what it would take for New England to beat the Jets. The Pats actually were playing the Giants.
New York has been in the headlines all summer, from Ryan making guarantees about going to the Super Bowl to the team bringing in big-name players such as LaDainian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor, Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie.
The story lines made the Jets a popular pick by HBO and NFL Films to be featured on their ''Hard Knocks'' series, which followed the team throughout training camp, offering an uncensored look at the coaches and players. Ryan was widely criticized by some fans and media, including former coach Tony Dungy, for what they considered an excessive use of expletives. The final episode aired last Wednesday, so NFL Films cameras were not at the practice Saturday.
AWSM and the Jets were working to schedule an educational and awareness session with the team, Speight said.
He addressed the situation during the team meeting Sunday night. The team also said it would work with the league to gather facts and ''take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media.''
AWSM said in a statement Sunday night that the NFL and the Minnesota Vikings jersey
Jets were ''responsive to our concerns'' and that it would continue to monitor the situation.
''We are awaiting the results of the investigation,'' the statement said, ''and further action from the NFL and Jets.''

Can 'hottest sports reporter' have it both ways?

Dallas Cowboys jersey
On Sept. 17, 1990, a woman named Lisa Olson was sexually harassed in the Patriots locker room, where she was working as a beat writer for the Boston Herald.
I’ll spare you the details, though the offenses arguably rose to a level of nfl throwback jerseys
criminal conduct. It’s enough to cite a former Watergate prosecutor who conducted the NFL’s investigation, concluding that the events of that day left Olson “degraded and humiliated.”
Then the real harassment started. There were death threats and slashed tires. The then-owner of the Patriots called her a “bitch.” It got so bad she left the country, an exile that lasted until 1998 when, I’m obliged to mention, we became colleagues at the New York Daily News.
Now, almost 20 years later to the day, there’s a new poster woman for sexual harassment in the locker room. Her name is Ines Sainz, a reporter for Azteca TV who calls herself “the hottest sports reporter in Mexico.” But unlike Olson, who went into exile, Sainz went on CNN and Joy Behar.
In other words, whatever happened didn’t hurt her career. Actually, within hours of this posting, I fully expect Sainz to announce her appearance on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Is she a victim of harassment? I don’t know. Just the same, I wonder if her cause diminishes that of women in the locker room, and all the legitimate grievances and real prejudice they face every day.
No, I’m not arguing that Sainz had it coming. What’s more, plenty of kudos are in order here — to the Jets and the NFL, for investigating this case with vigilance and no delay, and to the Association for Women in Sports Media, which demanded that Sainz be protected as one of its own. But Sainz — and the packaging of her unmistakably carnal goodies — seems part of a larger phenomenon. I don’t know how to characterize it in a politically correct fashion, so let me just ask if sports media are under a kind of siege. Call it Attack of the Bimbo Journalists.
I’ve covered enough fights, where Azteca correspondents are abundant, to marvel at my own self-restraint. How did I not beg any of them to please, please ruin my life? Then again, I think Azteca represents the future of the business. Without question, the network understands the male demographic, across all age groupings. Remember, this is the same outfit that dispatched a buxom reporter in wedding whites to “propose” to Tom Brady at the 2008 Super Bowl. The NFL had no problem credentialing her. Nor did it have any problem credentialing Sainz, who claims to have been modestly attired in jeans and a white blouse.
By now, you’ve seen the photographs. It’s safe to say that not all denim and white ensembles are created equal. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t harassed. But here are the facts, most of them from Sainz herself:
On Saturday, she went to Jets camp to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. Apparently, players and coaches used a passing drill as an excuse to get close to her, or perhaps, to flirt. Later, in the locker room, Mexico’s hottest sports reporter found herself the object of catcalls.
“I am in the locker room of the Jets waiting for Mark Sanchez while trying not to look anywhere,” she tweeted, noting that she was “dying of embarrassment,” and had to “cover my ears.”
A reporter then tried to come to her aid, which, anyone who hasn’t been in a locker room should know, is an especially ballsy act. The Association for Women in Sports Media was contacted, presumably by the same reporter. Board member Joanne Gerstner immediately took the complaint to the NFL and the Jets, who have been, as she puts it, “extremely responsive.”
But for what?
By late Sunday, Sainz sounded considerably less imperiled than she Dallas Cowboys jersey
claimed to be the day before. In her own piece for DeporTV, she said the whole incident was taken out of context. “I never felt attacked, nor that they reacted grossly toward me,” she said. “I arrived in the locker room and there were comments and games ...”
Games? You serious?
“I thought (the players) were joking around,” she said.
Well, if the alleged victim thought it was jokes and games, then where was the harassment? If a woman who’s marketed in a sexual context was noticed in a sexual context, then what’s the big problem? Yes, what was alleged on Saturday sounds like a horrible ordeal. But it’s not that difficult a question: Was she harassed or not? Sainz seems to have two different answers.
“I’ve seen the pictures,” said Gerstner, referring to Sainz’s provocative online gallery. “I know where you’re coming from. But that’s something between her and her employers. We represent other women who are not the ‘sexiest’ journalists …
“There are four other women who work on the Jets beat.”
Now does someone like Sainz do them a disservice?
“I think that’s a great question for all of us to debate.”
Good point, as the debate is just beginning. The notion of “sports content” is an impossibly broad one, veering from journalism to titillation. Yes, I know you don’t read this site just for the great columnists. I also know you’re more apt to click on something, or someone, who looks like Ines Sainz or, say, Jenn Sterger.
You remember Jenn Sterger? She became suddenly famous when an ABC camera captured her ample charms during a Florida State-Miami game. “Fifteen hundred red-blooded Americans just decided to apply to Florida State,” noted Brent Musberger.
Sterger, one of FSU’s famously underdressed Cowgirls, went on to pose for Maxim and Playboy. She even got a gig with Sports Illustrated — not as a swimsuit model, as a columnist. In 2008, she was working as a reporter/host type for the Jets.
That’s when, according to a piece posted last month on Deadspin, she received repeated and unwanted advances from Brett Favre. Among them, allegedly, were texted photographs of his privates.
The Deadspin piece was pretty convincing stuff. But it went nowhere. Even in an age as salacious as this, it just evaporated.
Gerstner, for her part, says no one complained to the Association for Women in Sports Media.
An NFL spokesman says, “We looked into it and found no evidence.”
But Sterger would beg to differ. “I don’t have any comment on my situation,” she said Monday. “But I can tell you there was no investigation. I was not contacted by the NFL.”
It’s worth noting that Sterger had her breast implants removed since leaving the Jets. “My implants got my foot in the door, but I Minnesota Vikings jersey
truly don’t believe that they are the reason I am still around.”
She’s 26.
And now it’s my turn to represent. I don’t know for whom I’m more offended: for Lisa Olson, or all those middle-aged copy editors whose mere knowledge of sports and fluency in English could not save them from extinction, in this, the new age of sports media.

Jets re-sign WR Clowney, cut RB-WR Woodhead

Dallas Cowboys jersey
The New York Jets bolstered their thin receiving group by bringing back a familiar face.
The team re-signed wide receiver David Clowney on Tuesday, nfl throwback jerseys
and waived running back-wide receiver Danny Woodhead, a day after a season-opening 10-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.
The Jets had only three true wide receivers on their roster - Jerricho Cotchery, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith - and will face the high-scoring New England Patriots on Sunday.
Coach Rex Ryan said the Jets would look into bringing in a wide receiver, and even said veteran Laveranues Coles was a possibility. Coles was released on Aug. 29, ending his third stint with the team he began his career with. The 32-year-old Coles has said New York would be his last stop and might retire.
Clowney has 15 career catches in two seasons with New York, and has Indianapolis Colts jersey
struggled with consistency. Still, the speedy receiver might boost the Jets' passing game after it was a non-factor against the Ravens.
Mark Sanchez completed just 10 of 21 passes for 74 yards, and rarely challenged the Ravens' secondary.
Woodhead, one of Ryan's personal favorites, played against Baltimore but registered only a special teams tackle. The versatile 5-foot-9 former NCAA career rushing leader from Chadron State had eight catches for 87 yards and ran for 64 yards in 10 games last Minnesota Vikings jersey
season. Woodhead spent the 2008 season on injured reserve after injuring his left knee during training camp.

Wenger believes financial rules will aid Arsenal

Steelers jersey

Arsene Wenger has again taken a swipe at clubs who live beyond their means by claiming UEFA's new financial rules will put Arsenal in a strong position - but he also believes he should have won the competition by now.
UEFA is aiming to stop clubs spending irresponsibly by football jersey
placing tighter controls on budgets for clubs entering European competition. Real Mallorca were thrown out of the Europa League this summer after entering administration.
"The new rules will be a massive advantage for Arsenal," Wenger told the News of the World. "We are one of 10 teams equipped to win the Champions League.
"We are fighting against some big budgets, clubs who lose €150 million to €200 million per year. You don't deserve a lot of credit for winning a competition, if all the others balance their books and you are the only one who can lose a huge amount of money.
"Nobody is unbeatable. We lost last year to Barcelona in the quarter-final. Dallas Cowboys jersey
They could have knocked us out after 45 minutes. But in all the other three halves, I think we should have knocked them out had we been a bit more stable defensively.
"You could say that Barcelona could be the team to beat this year. Real have invested a lot of money, again. You cannot dismiss them. But, two years ago, Inter were organised too and they went out early. It is not as easy at it looks."
"We are one of only three clubs who have come out of the group stage 10 consecutive years. Teams with massive money have not done it. We deserve a lot of credit for our consistency.
"After that, we deserve a lot of Minnesota Vikings jersey
blame for not having won it.
"I believe our group stage is a good test. It is much stronger than it looks.

Lyon’s throwing error gives Dodgers 6-3 win

Pittsburgh Steelers jersey

HOUSTON (AP)—Dodgers manager Joe Torre wasn’t around to see the wild ending of Los Angeles’ victory.
Reliever Brandon Lyon’s(notes) threw away a bunt for a tiebreaking two-run error in a three-run ninth inning, giving the Los Angeles Dodgers a 6-3 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday night.
Torre was ejected in the first inning by plate umpire football jerseys
Paul Emmel. Torre complained from the dugout after Casey Blake(notes) was called out on strikes, then left the dugout following the ejection to speak with Emmel.
“I wasn’t around long enough to see much but it turned out good,” Torre said.
Torre said he was defending his player.
“The umpire looked over and says ‘that’s enough, I don’t want to hear it.’ and I said ‘then get it right.’ He warned me and I said it again and he threw me out. I didn’t curse him and I shouldn’t have been thrown out. I’m just glad we had a good result.”
With the score 3-3, Trent Oeltjen(notes) singled off Lyon (6-6) and Reed Johnson(notes) reached on a bunt single down the first-base line.
A.J. Ellis(notes) bunted, and Lyon picked up the sacrifice, then hesitated and threw wildly to first as two runs scored. Ellis went to third on the error and scored on pinch-hitter James Loney’s(notes) double.
“I was able to see from where I was running that the ball got through on a low throw,” Ellis said. “I was trying to get everybody’s attention to start running.”
Kenley Jansen(notes) (1-0) pitched a perfect eighth inning to win his first major league decision in his 18th appearance.
“That’s how you win and lose games is defense and making plays,” Lyon said. “It just snowballed into that and before you know we were down some runs. Those were the games we’ve been winning as of late and tonight wasn’t one of those days.”
Dodgers starter John Ely(notes), recalled Monday Minnesota Vikings jersey
from Triple-A Albuquerque, made his first big league appearance since July 10 and allowed three runs and six hits in six innings with four strikeouts and one walked.
“We needed that from Ely,” Torre said. “He started a little rough like he was trying to overthrow. But after three innings he seemed to smooth out. That was a quality start, six innings. He got in a jam and out of a jam. I was pleased and I know he had to be.”
Ely acknowledged he was excited in the first inning.
“You get out there and get a little anxious,” Ely said. “I settled in and got into a rhythm and kept the hitters off balance for the most part.”
Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez(notes) gave up three runs and five hits in seven innings, matching his season high by striking out 10 for the third time.
“It was nice to see Wandy finish strong, even after what all happened there in the fourth inning,” Astros manager Brad Mills(notes) said. “He had 10 strikeouts in seven innings. Other than the fourth inning, he threw the ball really well.”
Blake’s 15th homer, and run-scoring singles by Johnson and Ellis put the Dodgers ahead in a three-run fourth.
Michael Bourn(notes) tripled in the fourth and scored in Jeff Keppinger’s(notes) single. Brett Wallace(notes) homered leading off the sixth, and Bourn’s RBI groundout tied it.
“I got a pretty good pitch to hit there, and I did. I think, like I’ve said all along, it’s just a matter of being comfortable,” Wallace said. “I think that I am finally back to being aggressive in my game plan. I feel good up there, and hopefully I can continue with that.”
Notes: Dodgers Triple-A Albuquerque manager Tim Wallach will spend the remainder of Dallas Cowboys jersey
the season as a coach with the Dodgers. … Torre’s ejection was his second this season and his fourth as Dodger’s manager. … Former Astros C Brad Ausmus(notes) is to start against his old team in Sunday’s series finale.

The White Sox’s struggles at the plate couldn’t come at a worse time.

Pittsburgh Steelers jersey

Chicago (78-64) won nine of 11 from Aug. 26-Sept. 6, averaging 5.9 runs and hitting .310. Since then, the club is 1-4 and has scored 11 runs while batting .173.
The White Sox lost 8-2 on Saturday, falling six games behind AL Central-leading Minnesota with the Twins coming to U.S. Cellular Field for a three-game set starting Tuesday. The Royals pounded starter Edwin Jackson(notes) for six runs and 13 hits in five innings.
“You want to play spoiler in this situation, just for the other teams in the division,” said first baseman Kila Ka’aihue(notes), who had three of Kansas City’s 18 hits.
Chicago dropped to 29-33 against the nfl jerseys
AL Central as Paul Konerko(notes) hit his 34th homer. He needs one RBI to reach 100 for the first time since 2006.
The bottom third of Chicago’s order has particularly struggled during the last week, going 6 for 50 over five games. Meanwhile Manny Ramirez(notes), who is hitting fifth, is 1 for 15 over that stretch - he singled and struck out twice Saturday.
“Everyone is right there and energetic and into Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
the games and doing everything they can but everyone has bad games and when you’re in the middle of September and in a pennant race and you’re trying to catch a team they get magnified,” catcher A.J. Pierzynski(notes) said, “and that’s the way this game works.”
With Freddy Garcia(notes) bothered by a sore lower back, Lucas Harrell(notes) (1-0, 0.84 ERA) will make his second career start for the White Sox.
The right-hander surrendered one run with four hits and five walks in his major league debut, a 6-1 win over Oakland on July 30. He’s given up four unearned runs and six hits in 4 2-3 innings over two relief appearances since then.
Kansas City (58-83), which snapped a four-game losing streak Saturday, will send out Sean O’Sullivan(notes) (2-5, 5.83).
The right-hander who came over in a trade with the Angels in July, is still looking for his first win as a starter with Kansas City. O’Sullivan is 1-5 with Dallas Cowboys jersey
a 6.90 ERA in nine appearances including eight starts with his new club.
As a starter this year, O’Sullivan is 1-5 with a 6.57 ERA. He pitched 4 2-3 innings against Minnesota on Monday, allowing five runs, seven hits and five walks in the 5-4 loss.
O’Sullivan is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA in two career appearances, including one start, versus the White Sox.

Angels beat Mariners 7-4 behind Hunter’s 4 RBIs

Pittsburgh Steelers jersey

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)—Ervin Santana(notes) has five more wins than Felix Hernandez(notes), who has Cy Young numbers in just about every other category—including the best ERA in the AL and the highest strikeout total in the majors. Its the abysmal run support that has prevented the Seattle Mariners’ ace from being one of the front-runners for the award. Santana tied a career high for victories with his 16th, allowing three runs and five hits over 7 1-3 innings and striking out football jersey
five in a 7-4 victory over the Mariners on Saturday night. Had Hernandez received that kind of run support, he wouldn’t be saddled with a .500 record at this stage of the season.
“That’s the part of it that’s not right. I mean, for him to put up as many zeros as he has, his (won-lost) record shouldn’t reflect (badly on) what he’s done,” Mariners second baseman Chone Figgins(notes) said. “The Cy Young is basically for the best pitcher. But if he doesn’t get runs, that’s not his fault. If his other numbers are up there than he deserves it and he should get it. But if I know him, he’s going to continue to go out there and pitch to win.”
Torii Hunter(notes) had four RBIs and Hideki Matsui(notes) homered for the Angels, helping Santana (16-9) match the win totals he had in 2006 and 2008. The right-hander was 3-1 with a 3.12 ERA in his five starts against the Mariners.
“It was a credit to us to do that to go out and do that to one of the best pitchers in the game,” Hunter said. “Felix has been hot all of August and up until now. That guy is filthy, man. He’s got some of the nastiest stuff, especially against righties. Right-handers are like sacrificial lambs. But tonight we came through.”
Hernandez (11-11) was charged with seven runs—four earned—and three walks in 6 1-3 innings and struck out five. This was the sixth time in the 24-year-old right-hander’s last 11 starts that his teammates didn’t score while he was in the game. Hernandez has allowed 17 unearned runs this season, the most on the Seattle staff, but has given up just five earned runs in 51 1-3 innings over his last seven starts.
Hernandez was 0-3 with a 4.13 ERA in his five starts against the Angels, three of which were against Angels ace Jered Weaver(notes).
“We were just trying to stay up the middle and not try to pull the ball— because we’ve always been in trouble when we do,” Hunter added. “We’ve faced him so much, so tonight we tried to work him and get his pitch count up so that hopefully he’d get out of Minnesota Vikings jersey
there. But he’s such a bulldog, he doesn’t care if he has 130 pitches. He wants to get a complete game.”
Despite his won-lost record, Hernandez was still in the running in some circles because of his 2.39 ERA and 214 strikeouts—three more than Weaver. But no starting pitcher has won the award in either league with fewer than 16 victories—a distinction shared by five pitchers. So even if Hernandez won his final four starts, he would be a longshot at best.
Hernandez won 19 games last season and still finished runnerup to Kansas City’s Zack Greinke(notes), who was 16-8. David Cone was 16-5 with the Royals in 1994, Greg Maddux(notes) 16-6 with the Braves in 1994 and Brandon Webb(notes) 16-8 with the Diamondbacks in 2006. Rick Sutcliffe 16-1 with the Cubs during the final 3 1-2 months of the 1984 season after the Indians traded him with a 4-5 record.
Ichiro Suzuki(notes) extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a three-run homer in the eighth that chased Santana. It was his 2,215th major league hit, breaking a tie with Joe DiMaggio for 167th place all-time. It also put the two-time AL batting champ within 15 hits of reaching the 200 mark for 10th consecutive season, which would tie Pete Rose for the longest such streak in history and snap a tie with Ty Cobb for the longest streak in the AL.
Kevin Jepsen(notes) gave up a two-out RBI single in the ninth to Josh Wilson(notes) before Fernando Rodney(notes) closed it out for his ninth save in 14 chances, retiring Suzuki on a line drive to third base with two men on.
After beating Cleveland in 16 innings on Wednesday night and edging the Mariners in 14 innings in Friday night’s series opener, the Angels opened the scoring in the second with Howie Kendrick’s(notes) two-out RBI single after Erick Aybar(notes) grounded into a force play and stole second. The rally began with a 10-pitch leadoff walk to Matsui, whose 62 walks are three shy of his total last season with the Yankees.
Matsui’s next plate appearance lasted only two pitches and resulted in his 19th homer, an opposite-field drive to left-center after Hernandez fell behind in the count.
“I felt too strong. That’s what happened,” said Hernandez, who was pitching on six days’ rest. “I couldn’t locate the corners. I just have to forget about this one and see what happens in the next one.”
The Angels increased the margin to 5-0 in the fifth with three unearned runs. The first two batters reached on errors by third baseman Jose Lopez(notes) and shortstop Wilson, who mishandled a throw after Hernandez fielded Jeff Mathis’(notes) bunt and tried for the force play on Kendrick. Bobby Abreu(notes) drove in a run with a groundout and Hunter added a two-run single, after driving in only one run in his 40 previous career at-bats against Hernandez.
Hunter greeted Jamey Wright(notes) with a two-run double after Hernandez departed. But the nine-time Gold Glove outfielder lost Wilson’s line drive to right field in the lights, resulting in a double right before Suzuki’s sixth homer of the season.
NOTES: Angels September callups Hank Conger(notes) and Mark Trumbo(notes) made their major league debut back-to-back in the seventh inning, striking out as pinch-hitters for Matsui and Mike Napoli(notes). Trumbo stayed in the game at 1B, becoming the 11th player the Indianapolis Colts jersey
Halos have used at that position this season. That tied a franchise record set in 1969. … The only other matchup between Santana and Hernandez was on Aug. 13, 2008, when neither got a decision in Seattle’s 12-inning 10-7 win.
